Thanks, as usual, for the honesty and accuracy you use to talk about the process of selecting Board of Education members in Anne Arundel County. We sure put a lot of our tax dollars in the hands of these people, and we trust they will act in the best interests of our county's children as well as our pocketbooks.

It certainly seems as though something as important and expensive as education should be led by individuals who are vetted by a less Byzantine process, with more fresh air and sunlight, than the one our county uses right now.

54Girl He does not get a pass. But it is not yours to judge. You do not know the total story nor will you ever. Maybe before you post things on a public sit, you should think about the people who will see this. Officer Johnson was a great man. He was a husband and a father to three wonderful children. He has parents and siblings.

He lived his life serving his community and the people in that community are better because of it. Instead of opening your mouth about things that you are clearly not informed on it would be best to stay silent. As with the media you got your facts wrong too. He was not a former fire fighter. He was a fire fighter.

And by the way if you want to post negative comments, at least have the brass to sign your name and not hide in the shadows of a screen name.

I have to admit to being more than a little confused by this story...both Hillsmere and Annapolis Roads are within a stone's throw of the Eastport-Annapolis Neck Library....a full service library with an extraordinary staff. So the statement that the Little Free Library Movement is popping up in areas that don't have "brick and mortar" libraries seems to be a bit strange given that Anne Arundel County has some of the very best public library branches in the Country, let alone in the Hillsmere/Annapolis Roads area....and they are indeed free! Perhaps a better piece of nomenclature for these operations is "Book Exchanges" rather than libraries. The difference is huge and it might cut down on what I predict is going to be some level of confusion on people's parts. Public Computers? Story Times and age appropriate programs tied into STEM? DVDs, CDs, accurate and up to date non-fiction content? Reader's Advisory? School Visits? Adult Programming? Library Cards that can be used anyplace in Maryland? Inter-library Loan? Job Seeking Assistance? Homework Center? Best selling and Classic fiction? Professional Information Experts? These as well as many other things constitute a library. A Book Exchange is one thing... a "Library" whether Little Free or a brick and mortar building that's already in place and has been for over 30 years is something else altogther different.

The Archdiosese of Baltimore is notorious for covering up what goes on at Slade. Several years ago the prior principal Mrs. McIntosh was found guilty of stealing money from the school and received a tap on the wrist. I would not be surprised if they do the same thing this time. In my opinion it is shameful.

According to police, those are the only charges at this point. He has been charged with 6 separate counts of various drug offenses related to marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

I also know this women personally & I know none of that is true , she did not leave her kids, actually she is my mother in law & she is helping me and her son & grandson out a whole lot, a very caring person, she is not a pedi file so maybe you should get facts straight before commenting. This women is no where near what people put her out to be . And yes she does have a cleaning busniess but also does accounting work. This woman is a wack job!!! Beware of her! She is not a "caring woman" as you describe her. She met her husband when he was 16 years old and she was married at the time with two children. She is a pedophile and left her own children for him. She also embezzled over $100,000 from her former employer and was incarcerated for this crime. Sorry, but it was an extremely thoughtless act. Suicide is bad enough, but to be driving on a busy thoroughfare and shoot yourself, knowing what the possible ramifications might be: other people's lives. He
does not get a pass.
As former fire fighter and then to go into police work, his whole career was about saving or protecting people.
